Busch Gardens: Newborn antelope to join herd
Busch Gardens theme park in Tampa has announced the birth of a female eland calf, a member of the antelope species, on Monday.

Although she weighed in at 50 pounds, she should grow to be about 1,000 pounds. A fellow female calf born there on July 17 already is double the size of the newborn. Busch Gardens' Serengeti Plain is now home to 11 antelopes, which are visible to theme-park guests.

Eland calves aren't born with horns. They grow in after about two years, Busch Gardens says, and they will reach lengths between 3 and 4 feet.
