Palm Springs: Hang with Saguaro architects and Dwell editor during Modernism Week
What? A retro Palm Springs hotel without earth tones? If you've ever wondered who's behind the uber splashy pinks, oranges and purples at the Saguaro Palm Springs, you'll have a chance to meet them. Architects Peter Stamberg and Paul Aferiat will lead a guided tour and talk about their design choices for the hotel at 1800 E. Palm Canyon Drive.
The tour is part of a hotel package in honor of the city's Modernism Week (Thursday through Feb. 24). It includes other stylish extras, such as breakfast with editor-in-chief of Dwell magazine, Amanda Dameron, and is available this Friday through Sunday only for $399 plus tax per night.
Here's a pre-tour glimpse of the Saguaro, in all its boldness.

Architects Peter Stamberg and Peter Aferiat used 12 colors found in native desert wildflowers for a redo of the hotel at 1800 E. Palm Canyon Drive, according to the hotel's website.
